Welcome to the 6th Meeting of the Informal European Network of National Commissions for UNESCO

As announced last year and later postponed the Icelandic National Commission for UNESCO will host the next meeting of the Informal European Network of National Commissions for UNESCO.

The meeting will be co-hosted by the Canadian National Commission and in collaboration with the UK National Commission for UNESCO.
Participants invited are Secretaries-Generals of National Commissions plus maximum one.

It is our pleasure to hopefully welcome you to Reykjavík, Iceland, for the 6th Meeting of the Informal European Network of National Commissions for UNESCO from 8 to 10 May 2022 arriving on 7 May and leaving on 11 May.

PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME

Saturday, 7 May

Participants arrive in Iceland.

Sunday, 8 May

 

Optional trip to the Reykjanes UNESCO Global Geopark and the Blue Lagoon
During the trip, there will be a presentation about UNESCO Geoparks and the Blue Lagoon and a possibility of bathing in the lagoon.

 

12:00 – 17:15 (Approx 5 hrs trip)
12: 00 – a departure from Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura

17:15 – back to Reykjavik from the Blue Lagoon (approx 45 min) – direct to the Opening Session at Perlan

 

The price for this tour is: ISK 9,000
Included: Bus tour with guide, and bathing in the Blue Lagoon

REGISTRATION

Registration is open

 

Included in the registration which is free of charge is;
Attendance to all meeting sessions, coffee/tea during breaks, lunches during meeting days, Opening session including light refreshments (not full dinner) on Sunday 8 May, dinner Monday 9 May at the hotel, excursion on Tuesday 10 May including dinner.

 

You are asked to register for the meeting as well as the social events and the excursion.

 

The excursion offered on Sunday 8 May is optional and the price is ISK 9,000. You can book that trip during the registration process and payment is required at the same time.

 

We also advice you to book the hotel soonest possible to ensure the availability.

 

We kindly ask you to register before April 8th.
